The National Association of Negro and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. was founded in July 1935 with chartered clubs from New York City, Philadelphia and Atlantic City. The membership now includes over 375 clubs and thousands of members across the United States, Bermuda, the Caribbean and Africa. The Teaneck-Englewood & Vicinity Club of the NANBPWC, Inc., was organized by Florence Holmes and chartered in October 1963. NANBPWC, Inc. is a community-based social service organization comprised primarily of Black women who are engaged in various business and professional endeavors. The association has expanded over the years to include a focus on issues which directly impact the African-American community; health, education, employment and economic development.
